#3 of 63 in Museums in Tel Aviv
One of the first buildings erected in Tel Aviv, Independence Hall Museum in the Shalom Mayer Tower provided the setting for the signing of Israel's declaration of independence. Once the home of the city's first mayor, the building now serves as a memorial and museum to the historic signing event. Uncover the early days of Tel Aviv's history through a series of displays, leading to the Declaration Hall, where the State of Israel was officially declared in May of 1948. Recreated with artifacts and reconstructed articles, the hall exists exactly as it was during that pivotal moment, the voice of founding father David Ben-Gurion echoing through the space from an original recording. • Hardly anyone is aware that the state foundation ceremony took place in Tel Aviv and not in Jerusalem, but all that you see is extremely minimal of a shame!

  • It is an important place for the people of Israel once it tells one of the most important part of their history! Also, It reminds us about some texts in the holy bible which prove that God is alive and He is the King of Israel! I recomend a visit because its very important to learn about the people in the places we travel to... it is a good way to understand and respect the world!
