Roam the maze of ancient streets and alleys in Muslim Quarter, merging thousands of years of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim history. With a population of 22,000 residents and stretching over 31 hectares (76 acres), it is the largest quarter in the city. The temple mound--housing the city's most prominent landmark, the Dome of the Rock--rises above the neighborhood. Its other historic attractions include Roman ruins and Crusader remains, Christian churches, and the Via Dolorosa--the path that Jesus walked on his way to Golgotha. • It is the largest and most populous part of the Old Town. It's great to walk through the narrow alleys and stumble upon them. There are many shops selling food. There are also a large number of important Christian denominations. Of course, the main attraction of the Muslim community is the Temple Hill.
