Dead Sea, Dead Sea Region

4.5
#2 of 85 in Nature in Israel
Swim, float, and nourish your skin at Dead Sea, a hypersaline lake. At 428 m (1,404 ft) below sea level, it is the earth's lowest point. However, the sea is most notable for the water's saltiness, which makes it good for floating and lends it some restorative dermatological properties. Salt and minerals from the sea are used in cosmetics and bath products all over the world. Camp or lounge on the sandy, open-access, northwest beach surrounded by hotels, or visit the mineral beach where bathers coat their skin in healing black mud. Be careful not to get the water in your eyes or in any open cuts--it will sting. Before you head to Dead Sea Region, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Dead Sea Region itinerary planning tool , to make sure you see all that Dead Sea Region has to offer, including Dead Sea.

Absolutely amazing place, so you want to bring another visit to bring signs with inscriptions on the Russian, only on the Russian: DO NOT use the sea as a toilet!!!!! and drive them to the beaches!!!!! It is a terrifying sight, as another Russian tourist with bulging eyes in pain runs into the shower! If you are used to it in other seas, the salty sea is not intended for this. Read the information "why you can't write in the dead sea"! And you will...
