#1 of 200 in Nature in Ireland
Leaning out over the ocean, Cliffs of Moher represent the rugged side of coastal Ireland. The imposing cliffs rise more than 200 m (700 ft) above the Atlantic and consist mainly of shale and sandstone. More than 30,000 birds live on this rocky part of the coastline, and nearly 1 million people come to visit each year. Begin your adventure at the visitor center, featuring exhibits about the natural and historical significance of these cliffs. To observe puffins and hawks nesting in this area, bring binoculars and hike along a well-posted trail to the highest point of the cliffs, where you'll find a historical tower built in 1835. It can get windy and cold here, so dress appropriately. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Cliffs of Moher by using our Liscannor driving holiday planner.

  • One of the most ironic touristic places in Ireland. Breathtakingly stunning place with amazing vistas especially in summer season the views are lovely. Long trail for walks too which, again, are more enjoyable in nice weather. You can get different tour operators from Dublin to go there or even by car it's doable as a day trip. A must visit
  • Absolutely stunning location to visit. Relatively well placed car park and inexpensive admission fee. The sights were amazing, with many locations to stop and look at the Cliffs. Trails extend beyond the park proper giving you access to even more viewing locations. Just be careful as these spots are less protected. If you visit one place in Ireland, make sure it’s this place!
