Leaning out over the ocean, Cliffs of Moher represent the rugged side of coastal Ireland. More than 30,000 birds live on this rocky part of the coastline, and nearly 1 million people come to visit each year. To observe puffins and hawks nesting in this area, bring binoculars and hike along a well-posted trail to the highest point of the cliffs, where you'll find a historical tower built in 1835. Must experience in your lifetime. You can spend hours here. We took a tour with a company and I wish we would of just rented a car. We were here for about 3 hours and we feel like we missed a lot. I would recommend hiking shoes and waterproof jacket if the weather is rain. Beautiful! Breath taking!
As our first stop on our trip, my wife was impressed by the rugged, but beautiful scenery. The paths are great for skirting the views, and the incredible wind gusts are a hit with just about everyone I saw there. Well worth the time, and although I didn't have a camera to speak of, it's still plenty enough for phone pictures.
