Trip Planner: Europe / Ireland / Province of Leinster / County Dublin / Dublin / The International Bar
The International jazz sessions have been running for a number of years and feature some of Ireland's leading talent in jazz and improvised music. Groups led by Cote Calmet, Sean Maynard Smith, Dominic Mullan, Paddy Groenland, Georgia Cusack & Alex Mathias are regular features with occasional guest players and bands from all over. The International Bar is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Dublin Edition.
The music is always fresh and exciting, the crowds adoring and warm. A number of regulars have accumulated over the years so we've got a bit of a family thing going at this stage which we'd like to welcome you into! The perfect spot for music lovers or "quiet pints". Things can certainly get pumping depending on who's up to play however and if there's room we always like to see folks up showing appreciation through a little boogie!
If you haven't checked us out yet, we apologise for your loss! Not to worry, these things are easily fixed! Come join us any Tuesday or Thursday night! Keep an eye out here for updates on who's playing!
A cheap night out too... no entry fee, HOWEVER, the stellar musicians don't get paid so we pass round a jar for tips, recommended donation is 5e but any contribution is very much appreciated in order to help cover transport costs, pints, etc. Spread the love and it comes right back!

The International Bar Reviews
Vimos The International bar desde afuera, una tarde que acabábamos de cenar y nos prometimos volver el día siguiente porque nos pareció que ameritaría. Y tuvimos toda la razón del mundo! And we were absolutely right! There is home energy in that place, which is evidently savored in its exquisite food. We share - luckily, because the dishes are very plentiful!- a cream vegetable soup and a typical Irish stew, just delicious! All served with very tasty homemade bread too. The attention, both from the waitress and to who seemed to be the owner, were warm and relaxed, which generated that we were all fun enjoying food and drink in a divine atmosphere. This made us want to take memories of there, so we acquired a couple of magnets: one of the bar's facade, very well achieved. And the other of protagonists of the revolution of 1916. We regret not knowing before this bar and its guided tour of this revolution, as Trip Advisor itself highlights it as the best to do in Dublin, with many opinions from locals and elsewhere. It will remain for our return, no doubt! Ah, one detail NOTHING LESS: it was our cheapest dinner, we paid 8.50 euros for the Irish stew and 4 euros for the soup, it was a bargain and the biggest night enjoyment of that wonderful city!
We had a great visit to The International. They had a great selection and a very friendly staff especially Allen who was great to speak to and was very accommodating. They also had great live music an... more »
