Trip Planner: Europe / Ireland / Province of Leinster / County Dublin / Dublin / Molly Malone Statue
At Molly Malone Statue, meet the woman who inspired Dublin's unofficial anthem, a ballad about the tribulations of Dublin's working class. The bronze statue of Molly Malone on Suffolk Street was unveiled in 1988 along with an announcement that June 13 had been officially designated as Molly Malone Day. The landmark is one of the first things you'll see because of its location in front of the tourism office. While the city of Dublin claims that the "real" Molly Malone died of a fever on June 13, 1699, it has no records that show prove that she actually existed. Molly Malone Statue Reviews
It’s kind of a famous node in the area and popular meeting place. There is always some street singer around the area and it’s a very lively place indeed. Temple bar area is very close if you want to grab a drink. You can sit here the whole day and won’t feel bored at all. For all the tourism buses for a day long tour, this is the place to meet up in the morning. The statue itself is glorious and the backdrop of it is also beautiful.
Eh. So we went here to wait for our tour guide it seems to be a common spot for this purpose. A lot of drunks around made me feel kind of u comfortable. I am just weird about that sort of thing though don't like looking at people in a bad condition while trying to enjoy my holiday.
