Jameson Distillery Bow St., Dublin

Have some history with your Irish coffee at Jameson Distillery Bow St., which provides guided tours and tutored tastings of its best-selling whiskey. The distillery closed for business in 1971 and the building now houses a visitor center and bar, located right above the original fermentation vats, which you can still see through the glass floor of the atrium. Guided tours explain the history of Irish whiskey through a series of reconstructed scenes from the old distillery, as well as through several exhibit areas displaying all of the main stages of traditional whiskeymaking. If the tour's complimentary glass just doesn't hit the spot, drop by the second-floor restaurant, where you can take the next drink with a gourmet meal. Make Jameson Distillery Bow St. a centerpiece of your Dublin vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Dublin online vacation planner .

  • Admission is free, but there is a fee for the tour. There is also a comparison between Irish, Scotch and American whiskey, and it was fun to know, fun to drink, and good time to spend. The little Jake Johnson whiskey for souvenirs is very helpful.

  • This was an interesting, highly entertaining tour. Must love whiskey, as you compare Jamesons with Scotch whiskey and American whiskey during the tour. The tour then finishes with “The Daily Grog”, a ...  more »

  • We did the Bow St Experience. Our tour was guided by Darren and he was absolutely lovely. He was funny, charming, and knowledgeable beyond expectation. The visuals in the tour we're very engaging and you don't have to be a lover of whiskey to really enjoy the experience. At the end of tour we sampled Jameson next to a Scottish and American whiskey to compare which was super interesting. While you wait for your tour to start, you get to have a whiskey straight, on the rocks or mixed with lime and ginger ale. This is a must see attraction especially if you're a whiskey fan.
  • One of the best experiences I’ve had. The tour is a must as it’s interactive with amazing effects and a funny tour guide. You will learn so much while drinking and having fun. The drinks at the bar are really great too and even made my sister and cousin who hate whiskey, enjoy it.
