Garden of Remembrance, Dublin

Find a quiet place to sit and reflect at Garden of Remembrance, a garden designed by Daithi Hanly and a memorial dedicated to the lives lost for the cause of Irish freedom. Look for the sunken water feature in the shape of a cross, as well as the memorial's focal point, a statue called "Children of Lir" by Oisin Kelly. Queen Elizabeth II visited in 2011 and laid a wreath here. Plan to visit Garden of Remembrance during your Dublin vacation using our convenient Dublin trip maker tool .

  • Little explanation in signs around this lovely garden set in Parnell Square opposite the Dublin Irish writers museum. Great attention to detail and accessible with ramps and lift.  more »

  • Memorable. If tourists are reading this beware of drug abusers hanging around here. Do not walk round with the camera hanging round your neck! Otherwise a nice quiet spot just off the main thoroughfare
  • It's such a beautiful park too. It's small, but it doesn't make it less. Actually it's a calm place and you can take a lot os pictures right there.
