Established in 1983, Chapters Bookstore is an independent Irish bookstore that had its first home in Wicklow Street, Dublin. Since then, Chapters has moved from Wicklow Street to St. Stephens Green, Henry Street to Abbey Street until opening the largest independent bookstore in Ireland on Parnell Street in 2006, our current location.

Housed on two floors, Chapters sells an extensive range of books, music and DVDs, both new and second hand, as well as thousands of bargain priced titles.

Previously owned books, CDs and DVDs can be bought and sold in our second hand department, and we offer cash or store credit.

We provide a customer ordering service on any book in print and not on our shelves, with quick and efficient delivery.

  • Chapters is one of my favourite bookshops in Dublin, with a really good selection of books. Up on the first floor they even have a huge second hand department, with an amazing selection of used books, reasonably priced. I never go empty handed out of this shop, it's a true dream for any book lover!
  • My absolute favourite in Dublin - and the rest of the world to be honest. Great selection of both new and used books, a lovely ambience and friendly service. It's telling that when traveling to Cork for work and flying through Dublin, rather than going straight to the train station I organized my schedule so that I could visit Chapters.
