Malin Head, Malin Head

#6 of 304 in Things to do in County Donegal
Must see · Lookout · Landmark
Go as far north as possible on the island of Ireland when you visit Malin Head. Deriving its name from the Malin sea area, this point offers fantastic views of the rugged coastline and interesting wildlife. While there is not much to do at the point itself, take time to explore the surrounding area. Along the west side, Banba's Crown stands as a historical defense tower. Shortly after, you can explore Fort Dunree, two museums, and old World War II lookout posts. If you are hoping to sail the waters, think again. Locals will tell you there are more sunken ocean liners and German U-boats here than anywhere else in the world. Before you head to Malin Head, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Malin Head trip maker site, to make sure you see all that Malin Head has to offer, including Malin Head.
