  • This 2nd century mosque was incredible from the point of view that it was constructed from brick and plaster. Many of the surrounding buildings were made from mud bricks and straw, which is also classic for the region. The mosque had one minaret, which some people say denotes it as a Sunni place for worship; however, our guide said that it was just the style of the time and that any Muslim could pray there.
