Historic Site · Hidden Gem · Landmark
Observe an enormous and varied collection of antiques and artifacts from the past at Ramnagar Fort. Built at the end of the 18th century, the fort is still inhabited by the Maharaja of Varanasi, and so remains closed to the public. You can visit the onsite museum, however: housed in the fort's public audience hall, it contains a plethora of items such as vintage American cars, elephant saddles carved from silver, and a vast antique armory with items from Africa, Burma, and Japan. • A place to visit for someone interested in old cars, vintage guns and swords. It was the most exciting place that I visited in Varanasi. It has nice college of Flintlock pistols and Rifles. There are also a few percussion rifles. It has few ingrained weapons. The condition of cars and buggies are poor but you can see a Ford V8 ( famous by Bonnie & Clyde's car chase). There is not a facility of drinking water in the Museum. You will need to pay a fine of RS. 500 if you click pictures inside the museum. You can click the pictures of the garden. Be careful of monkeys.
  • One of the best places I've visited so far .. must buy a ticket and see inside.. You'll miss a lot if you don't go in.. It has traditional Indian cultural elements and crazy cars and palanquins from 30s.. Must visit once in a lifetime..
