The Maramon Convention, one of the largest Christian convention in Asia, is held at Maramon, Pathanamthitta, Kerala, India annually in February on the vast sand-bed of the Pampa River next to the Kozhencherry Bridge. It is organised by Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association, the missionary wing of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church.Discover how to plan a Thiruvalla trip in just a few steps with Inspirock's itinerary builder.
The origin and growth of this annual get-together for one week at a stretch can be traced to the great revival movement which gathered momentum during the reformation period in the Syrian Churches of Kerala under the pioneering leadership of Abraham Malpan in the latter part of the 19th century. This brought about the transformation in resurgence of the ancient apostolic Churches in Kerala founded by St. Thomas the Apostle approximately in AD 52.

Being a part of the Asia's Largest Convention is a great experience. Listening to the word of God in the sand and songs sung during the Convention makes it more enthusiastic. You can a buy a great variety of things like books, CDs, and many more which is available through the stalls in the side of the Convention. It's a great experience being a part of it from morning to evening participating in different sessions of the Convention. There are special sessions for adults, youths, ladies making this Convention a unique one. The 8 days of Convention is really a wonderful experience.

A very large gathering , Christian Convention organised by the Mar Thoma Church supported by the government. The roads to the venue is filled with commercial stalls selling possibly everything. The venue is very peaceful and the public are disciplined. The youth are the volunteers to help as guides and resource. The meetings and stalls inside the venue are traditionally made with braided coconut palms. Food stalls, Book shops, drinking water are also arranged in. All these only for a week in month of February.
