Tiger Journey, Tala

We were vey fortunate to be paired with "Pappu"of Tiger Journeys, by India Footprints who booked our safaris in Kanha and Bandavgarh National Parks. As my husband is a conservation biologist he is always looking for more in-depth knowledge and a deeper experience on our many wildlife journeys. Pappu was able to fulfill this need, providing many stories and information about the biodiversity and conservation issues facing Bandavgarh and it's many species. From bird calls, to trees and of course the large mammals - his knowledge was vast - gained from more than 25 years of experience guiding in this magnificent wilderness. We seemed to be low on luck, and hadn't seen any tigers by our last day of safaris...this genuinely concerned Pappu and his many government guide friends, who were desparate to show us the majesty of this great cat. His concern paid off, and after carefully planning our routes as best he could, we were rewarded with incredible sightings - including two adult tigers and one tigress with four cubs! We also had an incredible leopard sighting - which we were told does not often happen in Bandavgarh. We were fortunate to experience the variety of habitats and wildlife which this amazing park has to offer. If we are ever able to return we will definitely be booking our adventure with Tiger Journey! The lodge (Nature Heritage) & food was also of 5 star standard!
