Landmark · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
Overlooking the Hiran River, Gita Mandir is a small, rustic temple located on the spot where, according to legend, Lord Krishna took a rest after being hit by an arrow. The interior of the shrine boasts colorful paintings of Lord Krishna, as well as many idols adorned with garlands of fresh flowers. The temple's most prominent feature is found on its walls and pillars--eighteen verses taken from the Bhagavad Gita, an ancient Hindu scripture written in Sanskrit. • Gita Mandir is located on the river banks of Hiran. It's very auspicious place for Hindus. As, lord Krishna left his body at this place & ascend to heaven. His brother Baldev cremated his body here.
