Tumbling from the top of the steep and densely forested Khasi Hills, Nohsngithiang (Seven Sisters) Falls is reputedly the fourth tallest waterfall in India. The seven separate side-by-side segments symbolize the seven states in the northeast of the country. Sometimes illuminated by the sunrays piercing through the low fluffy clouds, and sometimes shrouded in mist, the falls plunge from a height of 315 m (1,033 ft), only during the monsoon season.   • Best time to visit this place is during monsoon time...as one will be able to see all the seven falls flowing down together in its full fury... There is no entry fees...but they would charge you 50...  more »
