On the outskirts of Shilong, a mountain stream tumbles through the forest and creates Elephant Falls. This waterfall consists of three consecutive sections, named by the British for the rock that resembled an elephant. That rock has since been destroyed by an earthquake, but the attraction remains a popular tourist site for its proximity to the city. Wear comfortable hiking shoes, as you'll have to trek to reach the falls. You can't swim at the falls, but you can make the most of the onsite restaurant and parking facilities. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Shillong holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Elephant Falls and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

Nothing great and too many steps. It has three "levels" of waterfalls but with kids or elderly people one shouldn't bother beyond level one honestly. more »
Elephant Falls is a type of waterfalls divided into 3 parts at the same place. It is located at Shillong the capital of Meghalaya (India). You have to pay the entrance fees at the gate point when you entering the place parking. After getting ticket you should show the ticket at the ticket counter when you are going to see the Elephant Falls. These are looking very beautiful when the waterfall is little heavy. You can touch and go into the water 💦 and feel the coldness . It is very beautiful 😍. Enjoy the days with the beauty of nature. There are many different place to see at Shillong when you visit that place. Come to Shillong and enjoy the beautiful place. Very nice waterfall, I just loved them , it's a part of local sight seeing. Overall they charged Rs 80 as entry fees, It was late evening and atmosphere was quite cold.again you have to get complete down to get complete view. This waterfall looks different from others because water was coming down through many rocks. Actually when discovered by the Britishers there was a rock on the left bank of the falls which resembled an Elephant and so it get it's name..However the rock was destroyed in an earthquake in 1897 or so.The real beauty is when you get down to the bottom most... You have to get down almost 100 stairs to get to the bottom of the third fall....However there are sitting places and you can rest your tired legs here.
Amazing place. Very nice waterfall. Beauty of nature. Anyone who comes here definitely will fall in love with this place. Excellent place to visit with family and friends. The weather here is absolutely stunning. Best place to visit in Shillong.
