Ranthambore National Park

Wildlife Areas · Safaris · Gift & Specialty Shops
Named for the historic fortress it contains, Ranthambore National Park remains one of the best places to view tigers in their natural jungle habitat. Once the hunting grounds for Jaipur's maharajas, today the park's deciduous forest supports a wide array of wildlife, including leopards, striped hyenas, sloth bears, gray langur, and over 300 avian species. A 10th-century fort stands at the center, surrounded by ancient mosques and temples. Some visitors choose to combine a trip to Ranthambore National Park with visits to the nearby cities of Agra, Bharatpur, and Jaipur, each with its own celebrated attractions. Note that the park remains closed during the monsoon season, from July to September. Use our India online trip builder to plan your trip to Ranthambore National Park and other destinations in India.
