#1 of 7 in Wildlife in Port Blair
For the best view of the sunset from Port Blair, head to Chidiya Tapu. This quiet spot overlooks the ocean and a small hill, which hides the sun during picturesque sunset. The scenery, complemented by a few lone trees, makes for fantastic photo opportunities. Arrive a little early and take advantage of the daylight to look for local animal and plat life, such as white spotted deer, birds, and exotic orchids. Also look for a park and a beach near here, known for its excellent sea shell trove. Chidiya Tapu is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Port Blair Edition.

  • A peaceful place out there in andaman, know for the best sunset point. Be careful of crocodiles, this is what the forest officer say and do not allow to go near water. Still a nice, awesome n chill out place.
  • For me this was the best place in Andaman & Nikobar Islands. I first time saw how small streams of water which were coming from lush green forests meeting into the sea. One small shell was flowing into stream and it was live. Lots of uprooted trees were laying on the shore which was the result of Tsunami. Very tranquil place , mild cool wind simply blew my mind. It has been 7.5 years and memories are still alive.
  • Good spot to view Sun sets behind one of the island, the place is approx 25 Kilometers from Airport. Good to know that road widening work is in full swing. Four line road definitely save travel time to the spot. Small park with seating arrangement at cliff is made available to enjoy sun set. Public transport is available, which reaches much prior to sun set and return only after sun set, which easing tourists / locals a pleasant travel.
  • Sunset here is nice, not the best i have seen. Sun sets just behind some hills on the island. This place is a little far from most hotels, if you are renting a scooter/bike leave well in advance to make it before sunset. Route is very scenic with sea side road for company. Road is just ok and single lane near the end.
  • South most point of Port Blair. Magnificent view of sunset. Forest guest house is there.
