Trip Planner: Asia / India / Tamil Nadu / The Nilgiris District / Ooty (Udhagamandalam) / Rose Garden
Walk through the pruned bushes, blooming flower beds, and lush lawns of Rose Garden, a well-maintained park showcasing an extensive range of plant life. With around 3,600 varieties of roses, the garden possesses one of the largest such collections in the country, including many rare species and unusually colored hybrids. Skillfully arranged to form tunnels, adorn arches, and climb pergolas, the roses here benefit from the ideal tropical mountain climate. The garden extends across five curved terraces, with plenty of peaceful walking routes to take across the site. There seems to be more than 3600 variants of roses, we went in early March, majorit 95% of the rose plants were not having flowers as the maintenance were cutting the stems and making them to be ready for summer season, we got to know that April and May are the perfect time to visit this with full variety of roses blooming. Over all the park was well maintained and the charges were 30 rupees per person. Parking is available.
I can say WOW!! Amazing garden. It's a rose garden with 100s of rose varieties under taking care of TN government. Well decorated. You can see a very good example of cleanliness, natural beauty and decoration. The pictures uploaded by me will say more than my words. The entry charge is very less. If you are a lover of taking pictures then it's a good place for you. You can go there with your friends, family and loved ones. The photographers are also available to hire. Most of people come there for photo shoot and all. There is a small parking lot out of the garden. Drinking water is available at free of cost. There is a natural well which has lots of fish. If you are planning to visit there then keep at least 2 to 3 hours to check out the beauty of the garden.
