Humayun's Tomb, New Delhi

Marvel at one of the nation's most renowned mausoleums at Humayun's Tomb, a World Heritage Site displaying a fusion of both Mughal and Persian architectural features. Built in 1565 on orders from Akbar, the son of the Emperor Humayun, the mausoleum represents the first in a long line of "garden-tombs" that defined Mughal architecture over the following centuries. You can admire the intricate red sandstone and white marble construction, topped with an impressive dome, as you wander the extensive grounds dotted with shrines and monuments. Enter the memorial to get a glimpse of Humayun's final resting place. Many of the architectural designs used on the tomb and its surrounding buildings helped to inspire the Taj Mahal. • It's a beautiful place to reminisce your history. The coolness of the air at the top of the tomb is incomparable. One should visit the place with your adored one to have the total fun. Though the graves, that are spread all around the place, do not give the most auspicious vibes. Nevertheless you have lush green lawns and so many spots to have a seat and talk.
  • One of the must visit places of Delhi. The red stone and marble architecture is simply awesome. The place also has lots of greenery that is bit rare in this city. You can get a lot of good frames if you are a photography enthusiast like me. Try to spend at least 2-3 hours there to explore the place properly. I hope to visit the place soon again.
