Mukteshvar Temple, Nainital

#2 of 8 in Historic Sites in Nainital
Religious Site · Tourist Spot
Take a long winding road up to Mukteshvar Temple--perched at 2,286 m (7,500 ft), it affords spectacular views of the jagged, snow-capped Himalayan ranges. During fruiting season the surrounding orchards bear apples, peaches, and pears, which you can pluck right from the tree. Religious pilgrims will probably find more to enjoy here than others, meditating and praying in this majestic and remote place. Still, casual visitors can appreciate the hikes with striking vistas, as well as the chance to observe birds of prey as they scour the ground for a meal (bring your binoculars). See Mukteshvar Temple and all Nainital has to offer by arranging your trip with our Nainital planning app.
