Triund Hill, McLeod Ganj

4.7
Hike the easy, popular route up Triund Hill to gain extensive views of the valley and mountains. Set among dramatic peaks, the lush green hill acts as a beginners' hike, and many use it to acclimatize and orient themselves to the area before tackling some of the region's more difficult climbs. The 6 km (3.7 mi) trail takes you through a forest and past numerous small stalls selling refreshments, before finally reaching a camp area at the top with panoramic views of the surrounding scenery. • This is best place to go with friends for trek. Avoid monsoons as climb becomes hard since most of the path is rocky.  more »
  • Was an interesting trek - I went around from Bhagsunath Waterfall way and I'm guessing that's the more challenging way, no clear marks on the trek and it was quite dangerous at times... I'd advise to ...  more »

  • A must have on every travellers list. This is a superb place. You can just go and forget everything else. I would recommend you to camp at night and stay on the top, the stars are just so amazing over there. It's a bliss to watch them. The end part of the trek is a bit tough yet all its amazing.
  • A beautiful place with even more beautiful view. Triund involves around 5-6 km of trekking which you will not regret. There are stopping points in between the trek. The magic view cafe has been there for years and the view from there is actually magical. But, one should see the weather forecast before travelling as the storms and lightening are common their. And a person should be prepared with raincoats beforehand as the prices of raincoats are pretty high when you move up. But, all that is worth it. The view is magical. And the stars at night are heavenly. One should do the trekking if he or she visits Mcleodganj. The ideal time for trekking is in April every year. Good luck.
  • Triund is a fantastic trek with amazing view. It is a easy trek and best for you if you are beginner. Carry your own water bottles and toilet paper as there is no toilet facility available there and water prices are really high at the campsite. But the view is worth trekking for. It will take 4-5 hour for first time trekkers.
  • Awesome experience, we take almost 6 hrs to reach the top and 4 hrs approx to get down. View was amazing but it will more better if you plan for Jan end of Feb. Please carry some dry foods and glucose because a plan Maggie cost is 70-80/- Rs without veggies. There was no Toilet so you have a great change to feel the mother nature closely .. ;-), Overall its grt...
  • This place is so Awesome.... The View from Triund is speechless.... This place is so clean.. But it takes 3 hours to reach the top... The best Time to visit is October and November ..
