Hidimba Devi Temple, Manali

Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Hidimba Devi Temple, a sanctuary in the Himalayan foothills dedicated to a deity from the Sanskrit epic Mahabharata. Dating back to the 16th century, the temple was built over a massive, jutting rock, a manifestation of the earth goddess. Interestingly, devotees here pay their respects to the lark rock, instead of an image of the deity. Admire the tall wooden tower and the sacred stone inside, or enjoy the atmosphere of the exterior, surrounded by a tranquil cedar forest. • Biggest interesting thing is its location, go by walk after getting down very near to the entry and feel the nature. Nice wooden art work in such a nice place, you can spend more time there by visiting adjacent park and another temple. Can also explore local traditional dress and click beautiful pictures.
  • The place is situated between the mountains and is really beautiful! It is made up of woods and is surrounded by so many trees! You can sit and enjoy the beauty of nature. The place is worth visiting. There are so many activities that can be done outside the temple like yak riding, photo with rabbit, etc. A very peaceful and photogenic place. You can take beautiful pictures and relax over there. Good place and a very unique temple in itself as it worships a demon.
