The well-known Teak Museum is located at Nilambur in the Malappuram district of Kerala. Regarded as the first of its kind in the world and the only one in India; it is a house to the treasures of historical, aesthetic and scientific aspects of Teak. Teak occurs naturally in India with the main teak forests found in Kerala.
The museum, a two story building, is the world's first teak museum and is operated by the Kerala Forest Research Institute. The exhibits include comprehensive information on aspects of the use of teak in their exhibits and articles on the subject. The museum provides extensive information of value historically, artistically and scientifically.
The museum was established in 1995 on the campus of the centre of Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI) because of the historical significance of teak to the area. The world's first teak plantation was planted in Nilambur in the 1840s by the British.

Place is not only a teak museum but also has a butterfly museum and a beautiful garden. This place is absolutely amazing. We can get all the fact about teak and everything related to it from there. The butterfly museum is also great. All the types of butterfly and fact about them are seen there. The garden is also fantastic. The design of the garden is so beautiful. There are some fountains in the garden and a children play area is also there. Overall the place is mind blowing. There are clean restroom for both males and females. Parking spaces are also available
