So we were on a tour for a single day after completing the business we had come to Chennai for and then thought why not take a tour of the places to watch around Chennai and this place was one of them. Coming to the museum, it houses the largest collection of seashells from across the globe. In fact, the seashells are so unique that in some of the exhibits you will same the same type of seashell of the exact same size and quantity lined up together. Whereas in some exhibits the same variety of seashells are arranged in the descending order of their size that is from the largest to the smallest. They have also shown the process of how pearls are made inside oysters and have also displayed some of the rarest real pearls from across the globe. They also have a nice collection of sea creatures such as the various types starfishes in all size, shape, and colors. Coming to the next part they also have a small souvenir shop from where you can buy various items such as wall hanging showpieces and earrings made out of seashells. And the prices are also not too expensive so it won't burn a hole in your pocket. All in all the museum is humongous and houses a magnificent collection of seashells. Also, it is pretty clean and well maintained. Definitely visit this if you are in Chennai.
