#2 of 9 in Parks in Mahabaleshwar
At Lingmala Waterfall, spend time enjoying yourself amid well-preserved nature. One of the tallest waterfalls in the area, at 152 m (500 ft), it offers an amazing view, especially during the monsoon season. However, during dry months, you can see only the lake beneath the falls. Take a short hike un the stairs to the top of the hill; you'll be rewarded with views of the amazing landscape, the falls, and the valley beneath you. Most kids can manage the hike, and the whole family should wear sturdy walking shoes, as the path can get slippery because of the rain. Make sure you bring your camera to take some amazing photos. • Relatively tall waterfall in the course of the Venna river. From the entrance, you have to walk a few hundreds of meters to reach the view point. There are two waterfalls. The first one, which is closer, is a small one. The second one is situated further downstream and the main attraction is the view point facing this fall. There is a well-maintained, stone paved path leading to this view point. At the end of this path, you would get a panoramic view of the waterfall and the river valley. (See the pictures) The river cliff is curved inwards and has two evenly placed platforms at the middle. The river flows further downstream between two hills and the view of the valley is a real feast to the eyes. It is better to visit the place during monsoon, as there would be a lot of water falling down and the place would be greener. The place is situated right at the middle of the forest and there are no public transport services in this area. So book a cab or go in your own vehicle. The entry fee is 20₹.
  • It is a beautiful waterfall, not very high but spread out and a wonderful sight to watch. It is best viewed in monsoon when there is heavy water flow. It is a pretty long walk from the parking zone to view the falls. The premise is well maintained with proper stairs to descend. There is lot of greenery in that area and is very relaxing to walk to the falls. One can sip hot Tea or have a cup of Maggie at the mini stalls on the way to falls.
