Panna National Park, Madhya Pradesh

4.1
Take a safari ride through 543 sq km (210 sq mi) of Panna National Park, one of India's best-managed tiger reserves. In addition to observing these big cats roaming free, you may encounter deer, wild boars, sloth bears, jackals, monkeys, vultures, and even crocodiles. Neolithic-era stone paintings testify to an early link between humans and animals here, and the Ken River creates a number of whooshing waterfalls and cascades over rocky cliffs. Consider taking an hour-long boat ride to appreciate the park from a different perspective. Bring plenty of water, a pair of binoculars, and a camera with a zoom lens. You can rent a private vehicle to get here at Khajuraho, some 25 km (16 mi) away. • Guides are very professional and they try their best to get tourists sight of the tiger. Our driver was very good too. There are various nice accommodations and resorts around. Visit recommend during winters. Having own vehicle will be added advantage.
  • A real jungle safari for tourists. But locating a tiger is a rare phenomenon as Panna has, in its very large area, only 3/4 tigers. Best place to reside is the jungle camp of M.P.Tourism. The food is also nice. Two trips to the jungle are arranged by the Forest Directorate, one at 5 am and another at 3 pm.
