The stadium recently switched back to natural grass from artificial turf as part of the preparations for hosting the U-17 World Cup in 2017. The new turf was unveiled in a Kolkata Derby match between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan during the 2015–16 Calcutta Premier Division match.

I went here to watch an isl game. Although the game was mediocre but the stadium was great. The view was majestic and same from every corner of the stadium. The seats were surprisingly comfortable. The entry is ramped and hence disabled friendly which is great. Parking facility is also available. Apart from that, the complex also has a vegetarian restaurant and also available for marriage and functions. It also has the commissioner of Police of Bidhannagar headquarters here.
