  • We were in 3 different performances in this traditional House, which actively promotes the native culture: 1. Kathakali: the impressive testimony of Kerala culture 18 00-19 30. Seats in the 1.Reihe or all seats on the aisle are best. It's good if you at 17 00 there is so that you can follow the vanity. 2. presentation: Keralaischer dances. Several dancers show the typical dances (including explanatory notes) in various "costumes". 3. concert with classical sitar-Ragas including Tabla from North India. All performances show the Indian culture and are highly recommended.

  • Amazing place to watch a Kathakali performance. The ambience of the place sets the mood before the show. And you get the opportunity to watch them put the elaborate makeup before the show. The organisers even arrange a demonstration right before the show - a sort of 15-min crash course into understanding a Kathakali performance. They have a different story each day of the week, so you can go back for more. Am curious to attend some of the other things they offer...classical music, martial arts performances and yoga classes.
  • It was a good mixture of dance and drama, with traditional music n dresses. If you want to enjoy pure kathakali starting with watching how they makeup all by themselves, you gotta book a seat here. Some people would find it boring, while people who hav interest in classical dance n indian culture would love it.
  • Amazing performance. Two and half hour show. Includes one hour of make up by all the artist and one and half hour of acting and dance. They give you script beforehand so that you get to know the conversation in scenes being enacted . They also give a 15 minutes of introduction about what a mudra means and which expression means what. Overall amazing experience.
  • We came here for a traditional Kerala dance performance and were simultaneously impressed and disappointed. Some of the dances we saw very incredibly intricate, requiring coordination at a degree I couldn’t believe. But just as many dances were done by amateurs that struggled to dance well. (At the end of the show, the dance teacher explained that there were beginners and advanced dancers performing.) The other problems were more basic—the sound system was ill-managed to align with the dances, leaving dancers stranded on stage waiting; children ran around and talked during the performances; and you couldn’t enter the theater early, leaving people on the streets to be hassled. Easy improvements could have made this a much better experience.
  • The program included Kathakali dance as well as an exhibition of the local martial arts, the oldest martial art in the world. You can go early and watch them putting on their makeup.Classical dancing is only on a Saturday. Have seen it several times over the years and it is fantastic. The costumes, dancing and facial expressions are amazing.
