  • Marvellous monolith Varaha the wild boar. Has carvings all over its body & located under a canopy resting on fourteen pillars. It faces Lakshman Temple. Varaha is third avtar of Lord Vishnu. Carvings include Saraswati, a python in feet and large number of smaller figures. Estimated to have been constructed in 900 - 925 AD and in asingle piece of sandstone. The Varaha statue is 2.6 m long and has a hight of 1.7 m. It was listed as World Heritage Site in 1986. Opens with other temples & no seperate ticket for this.
