Swami Vivekanand Park, Haridwar

#6 of 10 in Wildlife in Haridwar
Park · Hidden Gem · Garden
Set against the backdrop of lush green mountains, Swami Vivekanand Park is a serene park on the bank of the Ganges perfect for leisurely walks and family picnics. The triangular-shaped park remains home to a large statue of Swami Vivekananda, a Hindu monk credited with introducing Hindu philosophy and Yoga to the Western world. However, it's the 30 m (100 ft) statue of Shiva that grabs everyone's attention. The statue guards the entrance to Har Ki Pauri, a famous ghat where thousands of pilgrims come together during sacred Hindu festivals.
