Arey Ware Beach, Ganpatipule

#2 of 38 in Parks in Ratnagiri District
A rare bit of coastal paradise you can have all to yourself, Arey Ware Beach features a long stretch of clean sand repeatedly lapped by moderate waves. Accessible from the coastal highway, this undeveloped beach is never crowded. The best time to come is just before sunset, when you can watch the sky turn red as the sun sinks into the Arabian Sea. Watch your step when going into the water--during low tide, the sand can be covered with thousands of tiny crabs. For refreshments and dining, drive farther uphill.
