Lloyd's Botanical Garden was established in 1878 when 40acre of land was acquired at Darjeeling to form a botanic garden as a distant annexe of the Calcutta Botanical Garden. The land was provided by William Lloyd, in whose name the botanical garden has been named.
The Darjeeling Botanical Garden preserves several species of bamboo, oak, magnolia, arisaema, cotoneaster, wild geranium, and rhododendron — forest native plants of the Darjeeling Himalayan hill region, Sikkim region, and other neighbouring regions. Also, several exotic plants are preserved. The Cacti and Succulent collection of 150 species is displayed in the Conservatory. The collection of native Orchids from the Singalila Ridge in present-day Singalila National Park is rare and notable.

LLOYD BOTANICAL GARDEN, also called a DARJEELING BOTANICAL GARDEN, it is established in 1878 the name lloyd came from William Lloyd for providing the land for this garden. As this place is very big area and provided various types of plant and much things to see. Farther for being very large area u will fell a calmness over there though the location was not so good anyways by staying in mall u can easily go and visit there.
It is very beautiful and there are awesome views at some places. It has many species of plants and some are just rare to find. The photos are available in my profile. Apart from these, walking on foot be a challenging situation because of the slopes are very much which is very tiring. Resting places are available at intervals. The garden is maintained well and is very neat and clean. The nursery is also good and well managed. If you visit it please make sure you can climb the high slopes of trancks inside the garden. Also Visit it During morning to have great pictures around. Its really a very big garden.
