Continuous interaction with a number of International visitors to Chennai, India during the last few years, has encouraged me to provide a platform where guests can learn the nuances of Indian art of cooking delicious and authentic Indian food depending on their interest.

Nothing gives me more pleasure than a guest appreciate the delicacies prepared with all the love and finesse I have gained over 30 long years through participation in cooking competition, interaction with senior and experienced chefs across the world in varied styles of cooking be it in South Indian, North Indian, Thai or Italian.

I have carefully constructed a special kitchen, assembled all the necessary equipment and utensils and laid out a special place where the guests can have a unique experience of learning the art of cooking depending on their interest and passion.

The guests will have an opportunity to choose the dishes they prefer from the special list of South Indian or North Indian or Thai menus or a combination from all the three menus as per their choice.

The classes will be conducted on prior booking through email where the guests can choose a total number of 5 items from the list below in different categories. I am also open to teach any specific request of vegetarian recipe which is not included in the list below. Apart from this I also offer Utensils trail and local market trail (for extra charges) in Chennai if the guests are interested.

The cooking classes are conducted at my home in Chennai @8/32 , 7th Cross Street , Sastri Nagar, Adyar , Chennai, Tamil nadu. This is an independent villa overlooking a garden with serene atmosphere one kilometer from the sea. The duration of one session is 3 hours . I offer only vegetarian dishes. The classes will be conducted with a live demo of cooking the dishes chosen by the guests along with them. They will be involved in the preparation of the dish, so that he or she can learn it in an authentic way. They can clarify their doubts and the recipe for the dishes will be shared to them through email. The food prepared by the guests will be packed and given to them at the end of the session. I provide the cooking classes year round and I don't over crowd the classes with too many bookings as I would like to give personal attention. The charges for my cooking classes will be shared on booking.

  • What a great experience! It was as much a cooking class as an Indian culture class. Sundari takes the time to explain her cuisine, how she selects her products and all the principles behind the consumption of a particular ingredient. I was wonderfully welcomed by Sundari and her husband with whom I was able to dine. The dishes are tasty. Without hesitation, I will return before I leave India.
