Bordi Beach, Bordi
Winding roads fringed by the sea on one side, tall palms swaying in the salty breeze, small and big houses fronted with lawns, glimpses of educational institutions, lazy pedallers on their bicycles riding alone or with a pillion, friendly and curious children watching you drive by....a quiet sea-side hamlet...that is BordiPlan to see Bordi Beach and other attractions that appeal to you using our Bordi trip itinerary planner.
The ideal weekend getaway for harried, hassled, nerves-at-breaking-point executives and the hoi polloi, it's just 140 kms from Mumbai. A haven of unspoilt beach, orchards heavy with chickoo and miles of winding road waiting expectantly to be explored, Bordi has hitherto remained untouched by the greedy hands of commerce. You can soak in its serenity and send a silent prayer that there are still places like this to retire to on a weekend. Hallelujah
A local bazaar busy with women selling all kinds of wares thrown up by the sea, a "beach resort" here, a bhel puri house there, colleges for women, engineering institutions, a railway crossing here and Adivasi women there, Bordi is a blend of the halcyon days and the modern....but not too modern that you shun it.
Bordi Beach is a very safe beach - the water does not rise above the waist for half a kilometre. The entire stretch of the beach from Dhanu to Bordi is beautiful. It has a backdrop of orchards of different fruits, the main ones being chikoo.
The specialty of the beach is that it is natural and calm. Even though the beach is connected with outside town, it is unspoiled and refreshing. The beach has no artificial make up. The sands on this beach are not white but blackish and a bit sticky - the natural form of sand.

A different kind of beach , gets very shallow and can walk huge distances into it. Having visited so many beaches this offered a new and different kind of experience.Should visit once.
I was there after reading a lot of Google reviews but found it dirty and the water was static. No waves and also seems like the industrial waste was joined up. The nearby resorts were also not very well maintained. The good part is - the less crowd and not commercial. You may like the peaceful sunset. Also there is chikoo festival on the main Street which you can enjoy.
