Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace
Once the summer residence of Mysorean ruler Tipu Sultan, Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace stands as a shining example of Indo-Islamic architecture built entirely of teak. As you wander the complex, keep an eye out for floral motifs embellished on the walls, a painting of the grand throne as imagined by Tipu Sultan, and the eastern and western balconies from which Tipu Sultan would conduct court. On the ground floor, browse the small museum depicting Tipu Sultan's achievements, featuring an exhibition of his clothes and crown displayed on silver and gold pedestals. Art lovers may also be interested in works by James Hunter, who sketched various landscapes of South India, displayed in the palace. One of the old palace we can find in Bangalore. Its nicely maintained and historical place. We can hear stories of Tippu Sultan by guides. Must visit if you stay in Bangalore. And please never ever write something on wall of not only this but on any historic place. Its my humble request.

Beautiful place to visit. Not much to see there because it is very small area, but interesting that such an old place is still standing still. With art works on the wall, and the wooden work done which is strong till now. Just the entry fee for Foreigners are too high, Govt. shouldn't impose such high entry fee to foreign tourists and no concession even if the foreign person is your wife or husband. INT 300 for entry for Foreigners is way too high compared to Indians Rs. 20.
