  • What a thoroughly well curated place. This treasure provides a fully detailed tour of Indian music right from the origin of sounds to the present day. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here and would suggest that if you have kids, bring them along to learn about their cultural history. There are loads of captivating displays and interactive spaces. The whole layout is clean and has a great flow and as foreigners with a keen passion for Indian music, it was a good education. Also very happy to see that this place is reasonably priced with no silly expensive admission fee for foreign tourists. 250 rupees is well worth the price. All of the staff were so friendly end helpful. My only concern was that today is a Saturday and we were the only people in the whole place. Please, Bangalore, support this treasure. We once had a similar space in our home city, which turned to ruin. Don't let this happen.
  • My new year began with a visit to the Indian Music Experience in Bangalore - the first interactive music museum in India. With amazing decor, well researched and detailed interactive experience of Indian music through the ages from the very beginning till contemporary Indian music. I got to know about so many classical and folk musical styles, along with some interesting foreign influence in some regional music. The instrument gallery with over 100 instruments with detailed information about origin, playing techniques and how they actually sounds is simply mind-blowing (would definitely visit again for this). The Sound Garden with ten playable musical sculpture bringing the concepts of resonance, frequency, pitch, timbre come to life. A must visit place if you are in Bangalore. I spent around 4 hours in the museum.
