Bheem Pul, Badrinath

4.5
Historic Site · Landmark
Located near the last Indian village before the Tibetan border, Bheem Pul is a huge boulder spanning a deep gorge. Listen to the gushing Saraswati River flowing through the chasm under this natural bridge. Notice the carving on the boulder shaped like a giant footprint. According to the Mahabharata, a Hindu epic, Bheem, the strongest of the five Pandava brothers, threw the stone across the water to help his brother cross the river on his way to heaven.
