Baisaran, Anantnag District

Ride a pony across Kashmir’s Mini Switzerland at Baisaran, a vast meadow atop a mountain range overlooking the Lidder River amid majestic mountains. Dense pine forests, long dark meadows, and snow-capped peaks give the area a look akin to the Alpine Republic. This area serves as an ideal campsite for trekkers, with outdoor activities like balloon-rolling to keep visitors amused. Take a pony ride from downtown Pahalgam, some 5 km (3 mi) away. • Awesome and refreshing place to visit. Lush green scenic beauty enriches your peace of mind. You feel heavenly touch whenever you will be here. Almost 7-8 kms of distance from the main town of Pahalgam. The trek to the scenic spot isn't concrete; it's of pliable surface, boulders embedded in the soil. You can't drive the four-wheeler up to the top, especially in rainy days. The best locomotive accommodation is 'horse ride' apart from walking. You can drive up to half of the way but that is tricky and might damage your vehicle. If you love walking and want to experience natural touch then do walk by foot, It will take an hour from the base to the spot. Horse ride is available throughout the day. The whole trek is surrounded by lush green forests and the conifers add a laudable beauty to the whole area. A fresh stream of water is gushing forth through the middle of the trek at one place. If you trek then you can take short cuts. No threat of wild animals and any other evident danger along the trek. The place is an open field layered with lush green grass and surrounded by conifers from every nook and corner. There are no restaurants around the place but suitable place for camping. If you ever visit Pahalgam, do visit this place, I am sure the place will give you jaw dropping episode.
