  • The prices are way too high, the quality of items is not good. Simple stones like amethyst are sold like equals to emeralds. Jewellery pieces are roughly done, the defects are seen without any lenses – you can have a look at the pieces against the lamp and see the defects immediately. Bad, just bad.
  • So when visiting the Taj Mahal we were brought by our guide to his store to see the famous stone " the black star of india". After a seat and a delicious cup of chai we started looking at rings and earrings. After my wife selected a simple white gold ring and a pair of simple white gold earrings I inquired about the price. Almost $1000 in us dollars!!!!! Here comes the education folks. After that quote I picked up the ring and if it was truly gold it would have had some weight to it. The ring had none. Secondly I have extensive knowledge about jewelry having been married before to a certified gia specialist and she worked in the diamond district in a store which catered to many celebrities. She was not just a specialist but a designer and maker of fine jewelry. There was nothing about the stone or the findings material which would warrant such a price. Also their claim that the black star of India only comes from Agra is a lie! Today, most star diopside material comes from India, which is how it earned its nickname 'the Black Star of India'. However, smaller deposits of star diopside have been discovered in other areas, including Austria, Finland, Madagascar, Myanmar (Burma) South Africa, Sri Lanka and the United States. Lastly Black star diopside aka black star of India is not at all valuable. You can buy it much cheaper online. Just Google search it or go on Amazon. It is available at a fraction of the price they are asking at this store. Dont let a high pressure, emotional charged purchase make you a victim. This place clearly rips people off. There is nothing rare or valuable about this stuff.
