The Svartsengi Geothermal Power Plant is generally not open to the public. You can't pull up to the plant and take a tour. But you can contact the power company and ask very nicely to take a guided.... more »

Another quick stop off. This time on your way to the Blue Lagoon. No tours or Gift Shop but you can walk the grounds and see the exhaust tubes and channels of blue geothermal water and silica cover volcanic rock. Nice little 10 minute stop just to see geothermal power in action.

Looks really cool, but don’t go there. No gift shop and no factory tours. We did go and ask. Would have been really cool. Hope they do that in the future. One extra star because it looks awesome : )
