Get your fill of shopping as you stroll down Vaci Street, the main retail street in Budapest. This pedestrian zone is famous for its high density of shops, restaurants, and cafes. Since the 18th century, it has been one of the city's main streets. In medieval times, the length of this street equaled the entire length of Pest. Wander the crowded walkway, people-watch at a cafe, or stop into one of the area's well-known shops, including Zara, H&M, Swarovski, and Nike, as well as local galleries and stores. For Vaci Street and beyond, use our Budapest trip planner to get the most from your Budapest vacation.

This lovely street never ceases to be fun for a 30-minute stroll and some shopping. Depending on the season, the street can be either packed or nearly empty. Either way - it's a lot of fun. more »
