Visit Keukenhof, the world's second-largest flower garden. With more than 7 million flowers in bloom every year from March to May, this is also called the Garden of Europe. The park was founded in 1949 on 15th-century hunting grounds that were developed to display Dutch and European hybrids. Discover 32 hectares (79 acres) of colorful, blossom-filled parkland. Walk through Castle Keukenhof which was built in 1641, view the traditional English landscape garden, and stroll along the pathways of the exotic Japanese garden. Because the Netherlands is known for tulips, you may expect to see many of them here, however, the only nearby tulip fields lie beyond the garden's borders and are privately owned. Put Keukenhof on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Lisse journey builder site .

We booked the excursion on the internet from the app: get your tickets, included the transfer go and return Amsterdam/park and the entrance. Buses leave every half hour. Both the park and buses are very busy on Sundays, so we recommend being at the stop 30 minutes earlier. For the park we had priority access as a reserved guide. The entrance is magical. The scent is the air you breathe even more. A lot of queue also to get into the windmill. Next to it is the possibility of taking turns in the river. There are various bars and fruit shacks. Ability to eat on the grass if you find some shade and space.
