The dune landscape has been adapted to make the images come to their own, and conversely, the images are designed to add an extra dimension to this dune landscape. Most works of art/buildings are in rusty corten steel and either tons in weight, or so big that it is a building within which you will also experience everything. The Nollen is unique in the Netherlands, conceived by artist van de Wint, but still developed by a group of volunteers and supporters according to the instructions that the artist has left behind. You come in, near the station Den Helder Zuid and walk to a visitor centre. Access is not free. For MJK holders There is a grant of 5 euros. On the website you can find the times of the tour. A guided tour gives access to the buildings in the park and is also important for the experience. You have been around the sculptures and buildings in over an hour and a half. After that, everyone is free to walk through the dune landscape. There are paths plotted from short held grass. You can also rest in the visitor centre to enjoy a coffee or tea. All in all a great experience. Look good again.
The park was a pleasant surprise. Great sculptures in a pleasant landscape. The old bunkers from WW2 make it an exciting place for kids as well.
What a special and inspiring place... And absolutely recommended for those who love art in the landscape and the real experience of art rather than looking at distance. In any case, I will go back again!
