Committed to preserving and displaying the art and history of the Netherlands, Rijksmuseum holds masterpieces from some of the country's most prominent artists. This museum was founded in 1800 and moved to its current location in 1808. Since this time, it has acquired more than 1 million objects and artifacts, 8,000 of which are currently on display. Take a moment to notice the restored architecture of the museum before entering. Walk through 800 years of Dutch history, including an impressive collection of paintings from the Dutch Golden Age featuring the works of Frans Hals, Johannes Vermeer, and others. Walk down the Hall of Fame to the Night Watch room to view Rembrandt's masterpiece "The Night Watch." Enjoy the Asian collection and Asian Pavilion, built in 2013. • Around the museum, I found this country museum. It's easy to find because there's a huge brand-"I love Amsterdam." Remember to take a picture in the sign before you enter the museum. Once in, I found it to be a place dedicated to the art and history of Holland. This place is too big, so I chose to look at certain artifacts, such as London Brown. Tip: Before you go aimlessly, you might as well plan to see what you like to see thoroughly.

  • I liked this museum a lot. It has a big selection of art. The built itself is pretty awesome. Very well organized. Nice coffee and it is nice that pictures are allowed. I get why it's forbidden in other museums but it's cool to be able to have some memories .
  • One of the best art museums in the Netherlands. Beautiful building and nice layout. Great art collection. There is many paintings by Rembrandt, including his most famous Night Watch. It also has Vermeer's the Milkmaid, Woman Reading a Letter and Little Street. All the best ones are in the Gallery of Honor on the 2nd floor which makes a quick visit easier if you are short of time. Other collections are very nice too.
