Catch a performance or simply view the modern architecture at Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, a concert hall for classic and contemporary music that also features regular art shows. Opened in 2005, this Danish-designed building with movable chairs and acclaimed acoustics imposes itself upon the waters of the IJ, offering a visual treat to spectators. The upper floor houses a computer-aided sound garden for children and there is a seafood restaurant from which you can take in the view of the IJ. Intensely lit at night, the building makes quite a spectacle in the dark with its reflection in the water. Het blijft een fijne zaal om muziek te beluisteren. Het bijwonen van de voorbespreking van het programma: geweldig! And nice hospitality on arrival and departure and during the break.
Een hele fijne plek om even rustig te lunchen, als er geen concert is gepland is het er heel rustig, met een heel mooi uitzicht over het IJ. De bediening is vriendelijk, het eten goed. more »A very nice place to have a quiet lunch, if no concert is planned it is very quiet, with a beautiful view over the IJ. The service is friendly, the food good.
Great experience at the Minimal Music Festival! There was a experimental piece at the waterfront, with the sunset sky as a background. The main auditorium was also really cool to be at, the beatiful music resonated thoroughly and reached the balcony from where we got a complete view of the orchestra. The building itself is worth the visit, and I recommend you to look for concerts and spectacles in there!
A fine, modern music hall, with light color and sound and usually very diverse top of the bill programming. Enjoy views on the IJ during the break and a drink in the adjacent bar after the show!
