  • To discover, this real Street and one of the oldest shopping streets of Amsterdam and the Netherlands. La Kalverstraat is located in the Centrum district and is a distance of 750 metres. Then it connects Dam square to Muntplein and is extended by Nieuwendijk. It has more than 150 shops and is one of the two most expensive streets of the Netherlands, that is to say. The existence of this street dates back to 13 March 1345 where a miracle occurred in one of the houses. Now, every year a silent procession or Stille Omgang, is organized to celebrate the event. The name of this street comes from the cattle market where calves were sold, or Kalven in Dutch and the market gave its name to this street. Currently we find all the major stores of clothing, shoe shops, bookstores, souvenir shops, Internet cafes and coffee shops, and peculiarities of the past as, for example, a hidden Church and stalls Offset. Popular street, so with always a very large influence of people.
