  • We had very good experience with quetzal tours. We could make a fast arrangement to go to the Vulcan viewpoint the morning after we arrived in Xela. Could recommend it!  more »

  • We have just completed the 3 day Xela to Lake Atitlan trek with Quetzal Tours. It was a great trek and only 3 of us on the trek. So it was very personal and you could go at your own pace (for us is fairly fast), you are not waiting around all day like in a large group. Angel was a great bi lingual guide and very experienced, it was tailored to suit our group perfectly. The food and accommodation are all simple but very good. We looked around at other operators but found Jose to be easily the best in town. Great quality and price. I also found him to be super honest, trustworthy and just a really nice guy. He is passionate and seems to really care. He also delivered our packs personally to San Pedro at the end of the trek. I highly recommend his services and will go with him again. We also booked a shuttle with Jose, the price was better than what others paid on the same shuttle. Thanks Jose and Angel, til next time.
  • We had an amazing time trekking from Xela to Lake Atitilan. Angel was our guide and he was very kind and helpful. We went at our own pace (which was pretty quick) and Angel was happy to lead. When we were slower it was no problem. The Mayan village we stayed in was nice and we were provided with a good sleeoing bag and a mat from the company. Our food was basic but anything is delicious after a full day of hiking; we had sandwiches for lunch and spaghetti for dinner. We brought our own snacks. I can't say anything bad about this trek! Also our extra bags were in San Pedro when we arrived.
