Lake Atitlan, Lake Atitlan

Set against three volcanoes jutting up from its southern shore, Lake Atitlan represents the deepest body of water in Central America. The basin of the lake comes from volcanic origins, with its waters filling a large caldera. The villages and towns that surround the lake remain the preserve of the indigenous Maya people, and their authentically rustic atmosphere and charm complement the look and feel of the natural wonder. Swim, kayak, cliff-jump, or rent a boat for the day and glide across the water to visit the villages. • A magical space source of legends. Bordered by towering volcanoes and dense vegetation, the lake pretends to be a color-changing sea as the day progresses. The best times to visit: the early morning or at sunset. Ideal for meditation, isolation and contemplation. Choose a solitary spot, there are, and merge with nature just by letting yourself be, the rest... Will.
